Kingfishers

For about a week or so I have been monitoring an area of river that I suspected to be used by at least one Kingfisher. I set some camera traps up to record any action in a number of areas with suitable looking perches in favourable light. I then Spent the week on film shoots whilst my cameras did the hard work of watching for any movement. The footage confirmed that at least one Kingfisher was using an area most days. I set up a hide and spent yesterday waiting to see whether or not the hide had been accepted as part of the furniture. After many hours of nothing but a pigeon a Kingfisher made an appearance to a number of natural perches around the hide for about 10 minutes, some of which I had a clear view of. Below are a few of the shots I got, I hope to improve on these if I get time over the next couple of weeks.
